The chromosphere is a colourful sphere surrounding the photosphere, which is only visible during a solar eclipse. It has erupting points in the shape of tongues of fire. The solar corona is the outer layer of the Sun. Sunspots are the results of disturbances on the surface of the photosphere. They are a sign of solar activity, they last approximately 100 days and occur in a seven to fifteen-year cycle. This was the Sun’s characteristic.
